Leora Healthcare (formerly Afea Care Services) won the Community Services Excellence award at the 2024 India Australia Business and Community Alliance (IABCA) Awards.

IABCA is the largest platform celebrating the invaluable connection between India and Australia.

IABCA revealed the award winners on Friday, 16 August at the 2024 IABCA Gala. The event was held at Parliament House in Canberra, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in attendance.

Co-CEOs Esha Oberoi and Gaurav Oberoi were award finalists in other categories.

The Community Services Excellence award celebrates organisations that uplift community spirit through empowering initiatives.

Esha thanked IABCA for the recognition and commended them for strengthening the alliances between Australia and India.

She also expressed her gratitude to “team members, support workers and nurses who contribute significantly to our community impact.”

Members of Leora’s executive leadership team joined Esha onstage. This includes Co-CEO Gaurav Oberoi; Marielle Bagus, Chief Marketing Officer; Jackie Ng, General Manager-Service Operations; Joseph Assad, Chief People Officer; Benjamin Yeh, Chief Clinical, Risk and Governance Officer; Sam Kari, Chief Financial Officer; and Jack Mhanna, Head of Growth & Partnerships.

Hon Don Farrell, Minister for Trade and Tourism; His Excellency Gopal Baglay, the High Commissioner of India to Australia; and Hon Andrew Barr, Chief Minister for the Australian Capital Territory graced the event.

Established in 2014, IABCA is a leading alliance building awareness and understanding between the peoples and institutions of Australia and India.

For this year’s awards, IABCA received 400 nominations from diverse sectors.
