Can you tell us about yourself?
I’m originally from Colombia, specifically Santa Marta, a lively and friendly city in the Caribbean. I believe my outgoing nature is one reason why my clients enjoy my company. I moved to Australia four years ago and love it here, although I miss my family dearly. I’m a bit of a daddy’s girl and stay connected with them through the internet. Fun fact: People often assume I can handle spicy food because I’m from South America. But I can’t even handle a drop of Tabasco!
This is my first formal experience in the aged care and NDIS sector. Before this, I helped care for an elderly couple informally.
I discovered Leora through a friend who works here. She asked if I’d be interested in becoming a carer, so I checked out your website and decided to give it a try. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Leora family.
What do you like best about being a carer?
What I love most about being a carer is that I can make a difference in people’s lives by being empathetic, respectful, and kind. I treat my clients the way I’d want to be treated if I were in their shoes.
What do you like best about Leora?
What I appreciate most about Leora is the sense of safety and the experienced team that’s always there to support me in any situation. It’s a comforting environment to work in.
