In 2013, Kathy suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm, leaving her paralysed from the neck down and unable to speak. Despite these challenges, she stays positive with the support of her loving family and her support worker, Girlie, who has been with her since 2018.

For Suki and Anni, the struggle to find a home that truly supported their needs had been a constant source of frustration. Their move to Spring Square changed everything as it gave Suki the freedom to move, engage and rediscover life’s simple pleasures.

Award-winning artist Luke Abdallah was born blind. As Luke has complex needs, his journey to receiving adequate and qualified care has been long – and bumpy. After an “abysmal” experience with other service providers with carers who were not well-trained, mum Jill and Luke found Leora.

Barbara has been our aged care client for more than six years. She is, in fact, our very first Home Care Package client! She welcomed us to her gorgeous apartment in the city to talk about her care team, her daily routine, her “brain games” and her secret to a long and happy life.

After Joy’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis, Angelo took a year off work to take care of his young family. He had to manually lift and transfer his wife, damaging his back. Thankfully, this stressful, chaotic period came to an end with the help of the NDIS and Leora Healthcare. “When you get carers that really care, it makes a phenomenal difference. It’s just amazing, and that’s what we’ve got.”

After her husband passed away in the mid-2000s, Radha moved from the Hunter Valley to an apartment in Liverpool. Radha has a number of health issues, but fortunately her support worker Petronella is there to provide companionship and support.

Sitti was an incredibly capable and accomplished research scientist, but after a major operation, she was afraid to be on her own. Thankfully, Leora was there to support her. Now with help at home, Sitti continues to serve her community as a bilingual community educator.
