                      Frequently Asked Questions
Private care is paid directly by you, while Support at Home services are subsidised by the government.
Both follow the same quality and safety standards, the difference is how they’re funded and how much flexibility you have.
Private care offers immediate access and complete choice, while funded care requires an assessment and comes with set budgets.
If you’re a self-funded retiree and move into the Support at Home program, Services Australia may ask for your income and asset details to help calculate your contribution rate.
You don’t have to complete this assessment but if you choose not to, you’ll be charged the maximum contribution rate for your care.
Leora can help you understand your options so you can make an informed choice before you transition.
A Service Agreement is a written document between you and your aged care provider.
It outlines:
- the services you’ll receive
 - the prices for each service
 - your rights and responsibilities, and
 - your provider’s obligations

Your Service Agreement replaces the old Home Care Agreement under the new Support at Home program. It’s designed to make your care simple, transparent and tailored to your needs so you always know what to expect and how your supports are delivered.
The cost of your services will depend on your circumstances and whether you are receiving any government subsidies. To get an idea of the cost of your care plan, contact us today
